THREE WILDCATS SIGN FREE AGENT CONTRACTS

Villanova, Pa. - Three Villanova University football standouts have signed free agent contracts with three NFL franchises. The three include center Christian Gaddis with the Buffalo Bills, defensive back Terrance Reaves with the St. Louis Rams and safety Allyn Bacchus with the Atlanta Falcons. In addition, quarterback Marvin Burroughs has been invited for a tryout with the Chicago Bears, while offensive guard Mike Costanzo has earned a tryout with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Gaddis was a three-year starter at center for the Wildcats. As a senior in 2006, he garnered first team All-Atlantic 10 distinction as he helped the Villanova offense average 337.8 yards of total offense per game, including 143.3 rushing yards per contest and 194.5 passing yards per game. The 6-1, 305 pound Gaddis is a native of North Miami Beach, Fla.

The 6-1, 210 pound Reaves saw time at both safety and corner during his Wildcat career. As a senior in 2006, he saw the majority of his playing time at corner. In 11 games in 2006, Reaves tallied 50 tackles (fifth on team), a team-high seven pass break-ups, one fumble recovery, one forced fumble and a tackle for loss. He finished his Wildcat career with 166 tackles, three interceptions, 11 pass break-ups, four forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. Reaves is a native of Gibsonton, Fla.

Bacchus, the 6-0, 210 pound native of Hampton, Va., started all 44 games of his Main Line career. His best season came as a senior in 2006 where he recorded a team-high 103 tackles, a team-best two interceptions, two fumble recoveries, four pass break-ups and 2.5 tackles for loss. For his efforts in 2006, Bacchus was named first team All-Atlantic 10, first team All-ECAC and a third team Sports Network All-American. His career totals include 374 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, three interceptions, three fumble recoveries, three forced fumbles and 13 pass break-ups.

Burroughs started all 11 games as a senior in 2006 and completed 171-of-283 for 2,123 yards and nine touchdowns. He also registered 342 yards rushing and six rushing scores. In 29 career contests, he completed 448-of-723 for 5,384 yards and 36 touchdowns. The 6-1, 215 pound Burroughs hails from Atlantic City, N.J.

Costanzo, a 6-4, 305 pound native of Pittsburgh, Pa., helped anchor a strong Wildcat offensive line. A three-year starter, Costanzo earned third team All-Atlantic 10 distinction in 2006.
