ORLANDO, Fla. - Freshman Colin List (Boynton Beach, Fla.) led Villanova this past weekend at the BIG EAST/MAC Challenge as the team wrapped up its fall schedule. The Wildcats placed 10th at the tournament and List finished in a tie for 37th place in the individual standings.

The tournament was held at the Grand Cypress course in Orlando and featured 54 holes that were played on Saturday and Sunday. Inclement weather on Saturday forced a suspension of play during the second round, which was completed prior to the final round on Sunday.

List recovered from shooting an 82 in the opening round to post scores of 73 and 76, respectively, in his final two rounds. At the par-72, 6,993-yard course, List established a season best with a score of +1 (73) in the second round. His actual score of 73 was also his low score of the fall season.

Junior Doug Stadler (Wexford, Pa.) was one stroke behind List with a three-round total of 233. He had the low score on the team when looking at the final two rounds, as he came in with scores of 72 and 76 in rounds two and three after an 85 in the first round. Stadler is the lone Wildcat to play in all 16 rounds during the fall season and he wound up with a 76.31 stroke average through the team's first six tournaments.

Coming in next for Villanova was junior Andrew Alexander (Rochester, Minn.), who tied for 49th place with a combined score of 240. Alexander registered rounds of 83-79-78 for the weekend, while freshman Conor Casey (Madison, N.J.) came in 51st with scores of 78-79-84=241.

Wildcat leading scorer Brett Bergman (Pittsburgh, Pa.) was back in the lineup after missing the past two weeks and was 52nd in the field with rounds of 78-80-85=243.

Tournament host Marquette (866) won the team title by five strokes over DePaul (871), while Villanova posted team scores of 321-304-314=939. The 53 golfers in the 10-team field competed in the third annual tournament that has been hosted by Marquette since the BIG EAST expanded prior to the 2005-06 season.

The spring season opens for the Wildcats on March 10-11 when the team competes in the Palmas Del Mar Intercollegiate in Puerto Rico. St. John's serves as host of that tournament.
