Horky Ties for Ninth; Wildcats Fifth in Bucknell Golf Invitational
The Wildcats had 12 scores below 80 as Steve Horky (Sr., Mequon, WI) tied for ninth to help the Villanova men's golf team to a fifth-place finish in the team competition at the Bucknell Invitational, held Friday and Saturday, Sept. 19-20, 1997. The Tournament was held at Bucknell Golf Course in Lewisburg, PA.
Horky shot 73-77 for a two day total of 150 to tie for ninth place with seven other golfers. Peter Dlugosch (So., Winnetka, IL) and Dugan Condon (So., Pittsford, NY) were not far behind Horky, as Dlugosch had a two day total of 151 shooting 78-73 and Condon 78-75 for 153. Rounding out the scoring for the Wildcats was Tim Walker (So., Englewood, CO) who shot 79, 76 for a two day total of 155, Chris Ellis (Fr., Boulder, CO) shot 79, 79 for a two day total of 158 and Greg Wojtkon (Fr., Andover, MA) shot 76-78 for total of 154.
The Wildcats next match is Sept. 27-28 at the Big East Shootout, where they look to improve upon their previous 1997 fourth and fifth place finishes.
