VILLANOVA, Pa. - Freshmen Carly Miller (Rye, N.Y) and Rachael Ponge (Fayetteville, N.Y.) each contributed two goals to lead Villanova (2-6) in a 16-7 loss to Le Moyne (6-4) on Friday night at Villanova Stadium.

The Dolphins came on strong to start the game by scoring three goals in the opening seven minutes to take an early lead. Nerissa Barzee had two consecutive goals for Le Moyne before the Wildcats got on the board when senior Amanda Carlson (Middle Island, N.Y.) scored with 23:35 remaining in the first half. The Dolphins answered with six straight goals, including four in the final four minutes, to close out the half and take a 9-1 lead into the intermission.

Villanova started off the second half with three straight goals from freshman Rachel Lasda (Camillus, N.Y.), junior Taylor Lucy (Ocean View, Del.) and Ponge to make the score 9-4 with 23:10 remaining in the game. However, Le Moyne quickly answered with three scores - two from free position shots - to extend the Dolphins' lead to eight goals at 12-4.

Freshman goalie Maggie Langan (Potomac, Md.) had seven saves during her 45 minutes in goal. Classmate Cassie Eure (Hebron, Md.) played the final 15 minutes in the net and had one save.
