VILLANOVA, Pa.--- In a women's lacrosse showdown at Villanova Stadium, the
Wildcats were defeated by Georgetown on Friday, April 3, by the score of 16-3. With the loss,
Villanova's record falls to 2-7 on the season.
Georgetown got off the a quick start in the first half scoring six
consecutive goals before Villanova finally scored at the 10:56 mark on a goal by junior Sarah
Gilhorn. Just forty second later, the Wildcats got on the board once again on a goal by freshman Terri
Overturf, with the assist coming from junior Katie Monohan. The Hoyas would score the next five goals, two
of which were scored by Kristen Baer, to go into intermission with an 11-2 lead.
Georgetown came out to start the second half with the same offensive
flurry as they showed throughout the afternoon. Baer scored her fourth goal of the afternoon at
the 29:35 mark to take a 12-2 lead, before freshman Liz Kenny netted a goal off Monohan's second
assist of the contest.
Georgetown proved to much, however, as they closed out the game with four
consecutive goals to take home a 16-3 victory.
Villanova will resume their schedule on Saturday, April 4, as they
will host the University of Virginia at 4:30 p.m.
