PHILADELPHIA, Pa.-- In women's lacrosse action played at St. Joseph's
University, the Villanova Wildcats downed the St. Joseph's Hawks by a score of 10-2. With the win,
Villanova improves to 4-10, while St. Joseph's falls to 1-12.
Villanova controlled the game from the start, as the Cats tallied
the first four goals of the game. St. Joseph's scored the final two goals of the half, cutting
Villanova's lead to 4-2 at intermission.
In the second half, Villanova exploded for six goals to cruise to the
win. In goal, Julie Pinnix held the Hawks scoreless in the second stanza. Pinnix recorded 15 saves
in the winning effort.
The Wildcats were led by junior Megan Doyle who registered five
goals. Other Villanova goal scorers included Liz Kenny with two, Sarah Gilhorn, Katie Craig and
Molly O'Connor who each netted one goal a piece. Katie Monahan tallied two assists for Villanova.
Villanova returns to action on Friday, April 24 when they host Boston
University at 3:30 p.m.
