VILLANOVA, Pa. - Villanova volleyball has announced the dates for the 2008 Josh Steinbach Volleyball Camps. Campers will have the opportunity to improve volleyball skills and prepare for the upcoming volleyball season.

All campers will be instructed by Josh Steinbach, Camp Director and head coach of Villanova, and the rest of the Villanova coaching staff. Current college volleyball players and high level club coaches will also be on staff.

All volleyball camps will be held on the campus of Villanova University. Courts in the Jake Nevin Field House, The Pavilion, Butler Annex, Alumni Gym and St. Mary's Hall will be utilized in each session. Overnight athletes will be housed in Villanova dorms and eat in the on-campus dining facilities. They will also have access to the Olympic pool and student center.

Campers will be screened in each session and divided into groups so that ample opportunity will be provided between groups and for the exceptional player.

Camp I is the individual skills camp. This camp will take place from July 14-17, from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and is open to grades 5-8. Check-in will begin at 5:30 p.m. on July 14 at Jake Nevin Field House, located on the corner of Lancaster and Ithan Avenues. This session focuses on the fundamental skills of volleyball, including passing, serving, setting, attacking, blocking and defensive technique. The camp is designed for all levels and the cost is $175/player.

Camp II is the team tournament camp held on July 19 from 9:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m. to high school varsity teams. Check in for this session will begin at 8:15 a.m. at Jake Nevin Field House. Players will get a short morning skills session with Villanova players and staff, while coaches participate in a coaching clinic with Coach Steinbach. There is a seven player minimum per team and the cost is $40/player. The head coach is included, but additional coaches are $20 each. This camp is for varsity teams only.

Camp III is the individual skills and competition overnight/commuter camp. This session is held from July 28-August 1 and is open to grades 8-12. Registration for camp III will begin at 12:00 p.m. on July 28 in the lobby of Sullivan Hall. The first session will begin at 2:00 p.m. Check out will be on August 1 at 2:00 p.m. This camp will focus on the fundamental skills of volleyball. Individual techniques will be applied in a team setting as various offensive and defensive systems will be covered in each afternoon session. The camp culminates with tournament play, followed by an awards ceremony.
