VILLANOVA, Pa. - The Villanova volleyball team will welcome Maria Nolan to the squad in the fall of 2008. Nolan is a 5'10, middle blocker from Wexford, Pa. and will compete for playing time at middle with three other incoming freshmen.

"Maria is a fantastic athlete," said head coach Josh Steinbach. "She is extremely good at hitting the slide and will be a real benefit to our team. Maria also takes her academics seriously and is a great student who will really thrive at Villanova."

At North Allegheny High school, Nolan was a three-time letterwinner and a two-time WPIAL class AAA all-section team selection. She was also named a WPIAL class AAA first team selection and earned spots on the PIAA class AAA state all-tournament team, as well as the PVCA class AAA all-state team in 2007.
