AVCA All-America Team
The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) has announced its 2007 Division I All-America teams and Villanova University senior Alona Cherkez received an honorable mention. Cherkez is the first player in school history to be named to the All-America honorable mention.
Cherkez finished the season with 642 kills and 366 digs both ranking first on the team. She currently ranks fifth in the country with 5.44 kills per game. She ended her career ranked in the top-10 in five different career categories at VU including the number one spot in kills per game with 4.48. She also appears six times in the single-season records including the top spot for single season kills with 642.
